“Before stepping into the world of wellness innovation, I spent over 20 years as a journalist and publicist — navigating high-pressure rooms, launching big ideas, and learning that success often comes with a hidden cost: peace.

I began teaching mindfulness meditation to children and to women on the verge of burnout — women who, like me, had spent years holding everything together. My program began to evolve when my family received devastating news: my father announced he had prostate cancer.

My mother and I cared for him until his passing. Two months later, my mother was diagnosed with dementia.

As her caregiver, I experienced firsthand how stress and helplessness affect both sides of the caregiving relationship. The exhaustion, the worry, the constant feeling of never doing enough — these struggles inspired me to reimagine what technology could offer.

That lived experience revealed a truth that became central to our work: effective support isn’t about helping one side first — it’s about supporting both people at the same time when emotional regulation breaks down. The Genni Goggles system was born from this insight.
